We tell the story of the Latin Americans who fled and of their reception in Sweden.

It has been over 50 years since the first Latin Americans fled the violent repression of dictatorships. They fled to safety in Sweden, leaving behind friends, family, and everything familiar. Their stories remain relatively unexplored, and we want to change that. That is why we are making the animated documentary film Welcome to Sweden.

The exhibition at Centrifug is part of the work on the film, where we showcase some of our process, research, and creative work.

Welcome to Sweden is a project about the experience of flight, but also about the reception. It is a collective narrative from the Latin American diaspora. In the project, we address issues such as the struggle against authoritarian regimes, finding a safe haven, and building a new life in a new country.

Come listen, watch, and feel.
