Tea Salon and REPAIR workshop!

A warm welcome to a philosophical art work by Marie Klawitter, where we are invited to a Tea Salon with healthy cookies and a collective contemplation of life’s various themes.

The Tea Salon is a contemplative and artistic place for conversations and experiences about the existential. Each salon has invited guests who create based on the theme or share their knowledge. Philosophers, musicians, dancers, performance artists, visual artists, and more.

On April 19, from 13:00–16:00, Marie Klawitter leads the Tea Salon at Konsthall C in collaboration with producer Sander Neant Falk and Ernesto Garcia, Phd student at Konstfack, on the theme "Something is Broken."

What is broken around us and within us and in need of being mended? A warm welcome to a salon where we deep-dive into repairing and into that which needs to be repaired. Both on a physical and practical level, but also on an interpersonal and relational level.

We begin with tea and conversation, and then move on to a "collective repair" of the Konsthall floor under the leadership of Ernesto Garcia, who is an interior architect and PhD student at Konstfack.

During the day, we will repair the floor tiles in the art space with liquid tin for a silvery expression. We will take care of the floor in the konsthall, which previously served as a laundry room where washing machines and tumble dryers were bolted to the floor, creating holes that we will fill with tin during the workshop.

Material collection: Do you have tin objects that you want to donate to the repair of the floor? Leave them during the Konsthall's opening hours or bring them to the workshop.

No prior knowledge required – come as you are!

Please feel free to bring something made of TIN that we can melt down and use in the repair.

More about Ernesto Garcia 

Ernesto García is an interior architect and furniture designer SIR/MSA with a master exam from Konstfack and a bachelor’s in industrial design from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.

Repair is part of Ernesto Garcia's PhD research on artistic grounds, titled "Something is Broken". It explores the idea of "healing" embedded in the concept of repair within interior architecture and furniture design. ”Something is broken is a project about the environmental situation of the world and the change we need to do. As part of the project Something is Broken, Ernesto will repair rooms and objects in his surroundings.
