Something is Broken - with Marie Klawitter & Ernesto Garcia

Something is Broken – What is broken – and what needs mending?

Welcome to a philosophical Tea Salon and a practical Repair Workshop where we take a deep dive into the act of mending and what requires repair—both on a physical, practical level and on an interpersonal, relational one. Part 1. Something is Broken – Collective Repair
Wednesday, October 21, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Collective Repair – a hands-on workshop where we repair together with Ernesto Garcia.

Marie Klawitter introduces the concept behind Tesalongen (The Tea Salon) and welcomes Ernesto Garcia—an interior architect and doctoral student at Konstfack—who will present his research project, Something is Broken, and the healing power of collective repair. Together, we will perform a "collective repair" of the art gallery floor at Konsthall C. We will tend to the floor—formerly a laundry room where washing machines and dryers were once bolted down—by filling the holes left by the machines with molten tin. Using tin to repair and "silver-plate" the damaged areas of the floor tiles is inspired by the Japanese technique of kintsugi; rather than trying to hide the crack or the repair, the method highlights and enhances it.

The collective artwork created during the repair workshop will become part of Konsthall C’s permanent exhibition.
No prior experience is required—come as you are! The workshop is primarily aimed at adults. Children over the age of 12 may participate if accompanied by a guardian.
Tin: Please feel free to bring along any tin objects that we can melt down and use for the repair.
Pre-registration: Pay via Swish to 076-619 21 78. Cost: 50 SEK for one session, or 100 SEK for both. Refreshments included! Mark Swish payment: LAGA Oct 21

Part 2. Something is Broken – Tea Salon with Marie
Date: Saturday, October 21, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Location: Konsthall C, Cigarrvägen 14, Hökarängen

The Tea Salon is a philosophical Gesamtkunstwerk created by Marie Klawitter. Now, she invites you to enjoy herbal tea, conversation over refreshments, and collective reflection on what is broken in our world and in our lives. Marie Klawitter is preparing a thematic herbal tea blend of support and open with a tea ceremony.
The Tea Salon is a contemplative, artistic tapestry of conversation and experiences centered on the existential. Each salon features invited guests—philosophers, musicians, dancers, performance artists, visual artists, and others—who create work based on a theme or share their expertise. This time, together with Ernesto Garcia, Sander Neant Falk, Marie Klawitter, and a secret guest, we will take a deep dive into what is broken and what happens when we sit with that brokenness together.

We will also revisit the repair work done on the art hall’s floor earlier in the week with Ernesto. Sander will lead a drum journey to explore what sensations arise in the body as the drum invites us to engage with the theme. You are warmly welcome to join us for conversations about brokenness, tea, a drum journey, a surprise or two, and acts of mending.

Marie Klawitter is a dancer, performance artist, and cultural creator holding a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Södertörn University. She is passionate about creating multidisciplinary spaces where we can ask what it means to be human in our time. Sander Neant Falk is a producer at Konsthall C and a trained art therapist with experience in shamanic methods for self-discovery and healing.
