Eleven 20 year old analogue photo reels. 11 photographers. One exhibition.

Expired/Exposed

Inspired by Czech philosopher Vilém Flusser's theory that the photographer is subordinate to the technical limitations of the camera, photographer and visual artist Lana Jansson initiated a collective photography project. She invited photographers and image-makers to use a 20-year-old analogue film roll with only 27 exposures. By allowing the temporary to become part of the creative work process, the collective explored what can arise in the meeting between control and chance. How does it affect the photographic process and visual expression?
